What Is an Apt Interactive?

**TLDR:** We help people with their computers. The little ones, the big ones, the loud ones, the ones that watch you, the ones that watch your things, the ones that ring, the ones that spit out paper, all of them and then some.

TLDR: We help people with their computers. The little ones, the big ones, the loud ones, the ones that watch you, the ones that watch your things, the ones that ring, the ones that spit out paper, all of them and then some.

But first some author shaped housekeeping.

Who am I and why am I worth listening to? My name is Jacob Bespalec and I run Apt Interactive. However, I put CEO on the business cards. That’s the mindset I am in when I think about our and our customers’ day-to-day problems.

At the time of writing, I have spent a little over 30 years being a voracious learner. Most of that time could be summed up as being a nerd. I have spent the last 17 years helping people get more out of their computers. First at a small-town Nebraska computer store. Shout out to Mike Haumont from whom I learned an immeasurable amount about working with people and a smaller infinity about computers.

The government first learned about Apt around 2014. We struggled to figure out exactly what we wanted to do with ourselves. We built websites, we filmed weddings, we made odd school instructional videos, and we even fixed a computer or two along the way.

In 2017 we renamed ourselves Apt Interactive and the mission has been nearly the same:

To help people.

Now it’s:

Apt Interactive’s mission is to provide seamless, human-centered technology solutions that empower businesses and homes alike to thrive with confidence, knowing their technology is expertly managed, reliable, and designed to enhance their world.

But take away the corporate jargon and we’re a group of folk helping other folk as best as we know how.

That helping has looked fairly different in the nearly decade since. We still do websites, we still help grandma with her printer, and we still answer the 937 phone number we had then. (The new public number is 402.418.3110 in case you need it.)

So what are you going to get here?

You’re going to get my personality and writing style in its tongue-in-cheek, sarcastic, deeply nuanced, and authentic form. I am capable of so much nuance, you just wait and see.

I will go on tangents. I will explain how Sony’s US TV distribution strategy is important to understanding why we can’t price match a Hisense TV (sorry Brian).

I don’t know if I do this because I care so much about getting the truth right, how each fact makes for better decision making, or some other fundamental flaw in my personality. But bear with me regardless.

Even without the pontification, I have enough confidence to say that I know and what Apt knows is opinionated on purpose. We stand behind those opinions and use them to help folks the best we know how.

This part is important, what we told you yesterday might not be relevant or true today. What is true today will certainly not be true in every tomorrow. We are human and the world continues to reinvent itself over and over right in front of our eyes.

We do our best to seek long-form truths so our clients and customers don’t always have to bear all the nuance and reinvention every day. For this reason we try and present a relaxed and calm tone even in the face of serious issues or threats. We’ve fended off thieves, foreign hackers, embezzlers, and others that mean people harm. Our skin has grown fairly tough through the years. Only when we start to sound stressed, convey urgency, or are otherwise rattled, should you consider being wary along side us.

But you never answered the question. What is an Apt Interactive?

You’re right dear reader. But you now know some of the who, you know some of the why, you know most of the when, and you even know some of the where. But what IS an Apt Interactive? If you’ve spent much time with me you’ll know I am often earnest to a fault but I truly believe Apt Interactive is a feeling. It’s the feeling of friends helping friends, it’s the feeling of safety, it’s the feeling of succeeding at something hard, it’s the feeling of the best parts of America, the best parts of the world, and the best parts of humanity.

Keep an eye here for more hard won options on everything including:

  • The economics of an IT business
  • Why hearing accessibility matters so much (hint: it’s the law and you’re a decent human being)
  • What you can do to secure your business or home without paying us a dime.

If you’d like to work with us or you know of a company that needs our help you can find us at 402.418.3110, help@aptinteractive.io, or by mailing a whole potato to:

A New Era

Apt Interactive has entered a new era. The company we are today will look more like the company we are in another year from now than the company we were 6 months ago. No one understands how busy and stressful running a small business can be better than us so I wanted to make sure you had a chance to hear from me how things have changed recently, what we still have to work on, and most importantly, why we are doing what we are doing. Whether you rely on us to manage your technology, keep your w
